the death of our friends daughter...it brings back the knifeblade
feeling of losing our sweet Sanjay all over again. My heart aches for
Peter and Becky and their family. We miss you, Beth, and we miss you
too, Sanjay!

Code of Amiability
To be amiable, as the Mother of God is amiable, one must radieate a strong sweetness -one that will bring a smile to the lips of another and invite confidence...
What are the ten commandments of the Code?
The Code of Amiability obliges one:
1. To smile until a kindly smile forms readily on one's lips.
2. To repress a sign of impatience at the very start.
3. To add a word of benevolence when giving orders.
4. To reply positively when asked to do a favor.
5 To lend a helping hand to the unfortunate.
6. To please those toward whom one feels repugnance.
7. To study and satisfy the taste of those with whom one lives.
8. To respect everyone.
9. To avoid complaining.
10. To correct (if one must) with kindness.
These are the dispositions which union with the amiable Virgin will place in our heart.
One of Beth's favorite songs...it will be sung at her funeral tomorrow. A beautiful song for a beautiful girl who dedicated her life to God. We just returned from her wake...heart-wrenching and lovely at the same time. Fr Beck spoke and lead the Rosary...he was very consoling. -Venerable Teresita Quevedo (1930-1950)

Oh, Karla, my heart aches for you and this family. Many prayers.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it so shocking is she began to be ill on the 4th and passed away on the 6th! A healthy, vibrant 19 year old girl...dead before 3 days had passed. To top it all, she was an 8 hour drive away from home and family. Praise be to God she had schoolmates and a priest with her, praying at her bedside while on life support...she passed away within half an hour of her mother and grandmother arriving. Thank you so much for the prayers...they are a family of great faith...but this is such a tragedy, and a heavy cross to bear.

DeleteThis is a time for family and friends to pull close and help share the sorrow...It is too heavy to bear alone. The prayers are so much appreciated. Beth also leaves behind 11 siblings who miss her dreadfully. At age 19 she was the second child in line, with the youngest sister almost 2 years old. A very tight knit farm family...but they have been raised properly in the Catholic faith, and I pray that will be of great help now, and in the future.
